Description

This engineer will be responsible for designing and technically verifying the design of Avaya systems, UPS systems and upgrade of legacy systems. Technical verification will include the verification of parts being correct and meeting customer requirements for entire new systems and parts for new and existing systems. This engineer will also serve as a SME in Avaya Installation/ implementation.
Requirements
Generally requires a BS degree and a minimum of 9 years experience in a related discipline. BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience. 9 years experience in telecommunications field. This engineer should be very proficient with Avaya design tools and files (ASD and rqt. Files). 9 years of experience in engineering, drafting, installing, and testing communications hardware, such as Private Branch Exchange (PBX) switches, & 5E Central Office Switches with knowledge of SS7 networking and protocols, Voice Mail and ACD systems. Knowledge of standards and specifications related data telecommunications systems, to include physical, electrical, procedural, performance, and communications protocols such as ISDN, Digital Telephony, H.323, 802.3, 802.3AF and 802.5. Familiarity with installation standards and practices relative to communications security (COMSEC) and information security (INFOSEC). Position requires TS/SCI w/ FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE. - FNS. High proficiency in using the Business Partner Portal and the resources it provides is desired. Experience in applying Avaya discounts and using distributor pricing tools is also desirable. MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or engineering discipline preferred. Project Management experience desired.
