Description

Direct multiple teams of onshore and offshore software engineers, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts by providing leadership, vision, strategy, career development and mentoring.

Conduct performance management and salary administration. Create and manage development plans, schedules and budgets.

Build and maintain relationships with technology partners internally and externally.

Ensure high quality, interoperability, scalability and robustness of the software applications.

Proactively support management and business goals.

Contribute to the customer services and sales initiatives.

Continuously improve engineering processes and productivities.

Education and Knowledge:  

Healthcare IT experience required

Bachelor of Science in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. M.S. degree is a plus.

Demonstrated understanding of modern software development lifecycles.

Solid understanding of Software Configuration Management practices.

In-depth understanding of quality assurance practices.

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent tool.

Very strong software development background.

Knowledge of technologies such as MS SQL Server, HTTP, J2EE, JSP/Servlets and XML, and Intersystems CACHE.

Knowledgeable in relational databases, data modeling, and architecture design patterns.

Healthcare, Informatics, Healthcare Information Management domain knowledge

Experience:

10 years experience of professional software development.
3-5 years experience directing large software development projects
3-5 years experience directing multiple development and quality assurance teams
3-5 years experience in offshore development models

Skills and Abilities:

Proven leadership and management skills. (100 employees or more at one time)

Strong project management skills and a proven track record of delivering on time, and within budget.

Proven ability to lead the development of large-scale systems with n-tier architecture

Self motivated and quick-learner.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Ability to work effectively in a team/ Entrepreneur and solutions oriented.

Ability to anticipate problems and develop effective solutions.

Seasoned team builder and effective project manager.

Willing to work at tasks outside of normal duties if needed to support management objectives.
